I have been wanting to make these forever. Finally found the time to make them back in June because they were red, white and blue themed. Gather your stuff and lets make some pretty flowers that will last forever.
Items needed-
-carboard
-mason jar rings (you can use either regular or wide mouth rings)
-scissors
-material
-sticks
-hot glue gun
I used scrap pieces from my craft room and some shirts I bought at goodwill. Used my scissors to start a cut on a piece of fabric about a half an inch wide and 6 inches long. If you want a more rustic look, you can use the scissors to just start the cut and then use your hands to tear the fabric apart in long strips and the cut to size.
I traced the center of the ring on some scrap cardboard and cut it out. Wrap the piece of cardboard in whatever material you want the center to be and hot glue the fabric on it. Front and back.
It took 30 pieces of the .5 x 6" fabric, for a full look on a regular size lid and about 40 on a wide mouth. Once you have your material ready, you will grab your ring and makes a lark's knot. Repeat until the ring is to your liking. Trim the edges so they are somewhat even.
Glue the lid into the center of the ring.
Hot glue sticks to the back of the ring as well. You can use bamboo sticks, doll rods, or even sticks from your yard.
You can certainly make different colors than the ones I did. Maybe some for fall or Halloween or spring colors for Easter. If you make some make sure to tag me in the pictures so I can see.
Happy crafting!
